Meaning
One of the busiest little words in Patois, doing several jobs. As negation it means 'not' or 'don't' ('mi nuh know', 'nuh do dat'). As a tag it softens or urges a request ('come nuh', 'gwaan nuh'). And as a question opener it means 'isn't it / right?' ('a nuh so?'). Tone and position tell you which 'nuh' is at work.
