Meaning
Full of joy — happy, gladhearted, rejoicing. 'Joyful' carries a warm, often churchly ring in Jamaican use, at home in the language of praise, testimony, and thanksgiving, where the congregation is 'joyful' and the singing is full of joy. Beyond church it names a deep, overflowing gladness at good news, a homecoming, or a blessing, stronger and more heartfelt than plain 'glad'.
