Meaning
'Yes, man' — an affirmation meaning yes, sure, of course, or no problem. Rooted in the real Jamaican use of 'man' (mon) as an emphatic tag on the end of speech ('come, mon'), 'yah mon' has also become the great tourist cliché of laid-back Jamaica. Locals do say it, but far less relentlessly than the stereotype suggests, and often with a knowing wink at how outsiders overuse it.
