Meaning
Man — the relaxed, rounded pronunciation of 'man', tagged onto the end of phrases for emphasis and warmth ('no problem, mon'; 'ya mon'). It is the single most stereotyped feature of Jamaican speech to outsiders, though in real Patois 'man' is used far more flexibly than the tourist cliché suggests.
