Meaning
A drink and tonic made from a dried seaweed that is boiled until it dissolves into a thick, gel-like base, then blended with milk, sugar, and spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla. Closely related to Irish moss, sea moss is drunk as a nourishing, energy-building tonic and is widely reputed as an aphrodisiac and 'back-strengthener' for men. The seaweed itself is gathered on the shore and dried in the sun.
