Irieshun

noun i-ri-EY-shun aɪriˈeːʃan

Also spelled ireation, iration, irieation

Creation — reworked in Rastafari Iyaric so 'creation' becomes 'irieation/irieshun', blending 'irie' (good/positive) and the exalted 'I' with 'creation'. It names the whole of Jah's creation seen as good and positive, and reflects the Rasta practice of remaking words to centre the 'I' and strip out negativity.

  • Give thanks fi di whole irieshun.

Give thanks for the whole of creation.

  • Jah irieshun beautiful.

    Jah's creation is beautiful.

  • Live inna harmony wid di irieshun.

    Live in harmony with creation.

Rastafari Iyaric: 'creation' remade with 'irie'/'I' to 'irieshun' (also 'iration') — an 'I-word' affirming the goodness of Jah's creation. Compare 'livicate', 'apprecilove'.

Creation, in Iyaric form. An example of Rasta word-building. See [[irie]], [[i-tation]], [[livicate]].
