Meaning
The father of a woman's child, spoken of as an ongoing relation whether or not the couple is still together — the male counterpart of 'babymother'. 'Mi babyfather' names the man you have a child with, and the word covers the whole reality of shared parenthood, from a good co-parent to an absent or troublesome one. It has spread from Jamaica into wider Caribbean and British usage.
