Meaning
A glossy, deep-pink to crimson pear-shaped fruit (also called the Malay apple or pomerac) with crisp, white, mildly sweet flesh and a single large seed. In season the ground beneath the tree is carpeted with the bright fruit; children eat them fresh and they are stewed or made into drinks.

Origin
