Meaning
Foul-smelling, musty, and unwashed — the stale, sour reek of a body, clothes, or bedding that badly need washing. To be 'frownzy' is to smell of neglect and old sweat, and 'frownzy clothes' are ones gone rank from being worn too long or left damp. A vivid word of disgust, it is used both plainly, of a genuine bad smell, and as an insult for someone dirty and unkempt, its very sound curling the nose.
