Meaning
A children's jumping game played with a long loop of joined elastic (or rubber bands) stretched around the ankles of two players while a third jumps a set pattern of steps in and out of it, the elastic raised higher at each level. A schoolyard favourite for girls in particular, china skip needs nothing but a stretch of elastic and is played through breaktime with chanted rhymes and rising levels of difficulty.
